Remarks
Adsorbs poorly, forms small, irregular, turbid plaques from which lysogens can be isolated. Prophage is not UV-inducible.
Pre-adsorption to the indicator bacterium is recommended for plating.
Spontaneous clear-plaque mutants are very frequent (10^-4) and should be used for preparing high titer lysates.
The phage is able to multiply on
S. marcescens
CV(?).
